Question Hexen Black Screen

Alrighty, heres the problem all, whenever I load Hexen64 with Project 64(V.1.6) the loading screen works fine, and the start menu at the very start of any game, but when you hit "new game< warrior / mage/ claric< difficulty, and the game loads off the "press any button to continue" it's just a black screen, I can hear the music, but no actions being used, nor can I see any actions.. just black.

Does the same problem happen on Jabo's Direct3D6 1.5.2 and not--8 1.6?

Yep. Could it be the rom itself?

It could be, it works fine on my computer. What is the full name of the rom?

Anyway, try getting a different one from a different site.

Edit: don't link where you got it the first time.

D: It's just called Hexen as a .zip file, the file inclosed is Hexen.v64

Where'd you get your ROM at? o.O

Not telling where I got it, that's against the rules.

And I meant the full rom name, it should be something like

Code:
hexen.v64 [!]
or something like that I don't quite remember.

Through the window where you select the games, right click the game and select "rom info" or something like that. You should be able to see the full name there as well.

Odd.

well, as long as the other one works, then good for it You must have had a bad version.

By the way, [!] means good when it comes to roms, so keep that in mind

Pfft, the full ROM name just depends where you downloaded it from !

ROM file names can be just about anything. I'm surprised you (or him) found one with the V64 extension though...those nowadays are relatively rare.

The (U) [!] is just the GoodShit conventions for naming them, not official by Nintendo or anything.

And yeah, maybe it was the ROM, or maybe it was the internal settings stored for that ROM when you were using the D3D8 plugin with the anti-aliasing, texture filtering, settings like that. Sometimes they can get in the way.
