Please make a Linux version of PJ64.
you see that there is a large number of people begging you to make a Linux version. Linux is not hard, Linux is different (even my 7 year old son runs Linux) why cant you develop it then? are you smarter than a 7 year old? Linux is the fastest growing OS on the market. you guys were the ones who asked which OS to support, so you got your answer. |

Really amusing the people dissing Vista are probably the people who've never touched the OS in their life or are just too stupid to understand computing and have massive attacks of paranoia about DRM. In Vista I play games like Crysis with full DX10 effects at smooth framerates (although my PC is always on the bleeding edge, I never stop upgrading
![]() Anyway imo any OS older than 2K should be dropped, I'm quite surprised to see the amount of people still using 2K so it's probably best to keep the support for it as I don't think it would be too difficult to implement with it being an NT system. Also I'm not surprised to see the people asking for a Linux version. As much as I used to love Linux and used it for quite a while the lack of support where games are concerned made me drop the OS completely. Linux will never get mainstream gaming support and anyone who thinks otherwise is just fooling themselves, checking out PC games these days they're mostly cheap, direct and badly optimized ports of console games done as an afterthought with no interest in the PC gaming industry, usually PC versions are just out there for a quick buck more than anything so it's unlikely they'd even acknowledge Linux support much less consider it. It's pretty sad to see PC gaming cheapened so much by money grabbing fuckheads in companies like EA and Lucasarts. Wow I really have no idea how to stay on topic... |

First thing anyone need to know is that pj64 uses alot of resources, if you want to run pj64 with normal plugins, then it should run fine on windows 7 or vista or xp. yet if like me me you want to add your own textures and load hires textures, then that requires more memory from your computer, it best to run pj64 on a newer computer with 1GB of memory and windows xp sp3 with direct x 10 , disabled internet connections if on a wireless connection because everytime windows displays a notification of your status it interferes with game play, disabled av software, most av software eats your processor and uses too memory. if you are using cheats verify that the cheats work properly, poor coding can cause your game to crash and even destroy the game itself not the emulator though, most problems that occur are user generated and are not pj64's fault. |

why don't you develop it yourself, pj64 is open source freeware, plus what difference would it make if you are unable to use a game controller, they don't make xbox or playstation game controller drivers for linux, (it's kinda hard to play a game like mortal kombat on your keyboard) so you'd have to make those yourself as well. if you want to use pj64, install windows xp sp3 on a seperate partion, and make sure that your computer as a newer computer with 1GB of memory or more but 1GB minimum, pj64 will not run on old piece of shit dinosaur computers, i know i have an old desktop and a newer laptop and the laptop blows the desktop to hell. if you can't make it yourself contact a linux pro and ask them to design th drivers |
