Default Full-screen filters?

Since Glide is being actively developed again, I was wondering what are the chances of getting full-screen shader/filter options?

For instance, the option to apply 2xSai across the entire frame (and NOT individual textures within), or even a simple bilinear filter across the entire frame.

Would help make 2D games look better, although I realise there aren't all that many of those.

There is some shader support using a Rice Video plugin and a patch, but it's a rather hackish approach IMO and, well, it's Rice Video. I too would like to see proper shader support implemented, though Mupen64Plus may be getting it first (through RetroArch, mind you, but it counts).
