That may be hyperbole. I have an overclocked i7-2600k and a GTX 570.
So, let's say I want the highest fidelity experience possible (without custom textures). Besides the basics like resolution and AA, what settings should I look at? What if, on the other hand, I wanted the most authentic and accurate experience possible. What settings should I be concerned about then? Thanks in advance! I'm so glad to see the developers alive again. |

Not too certain how to respond to this since much of the remaining settings taking advantage of fast CPUs are accuracy-oriented.
For example Software Rendering corrects many problems with LLE gfx in Jabo's Direct3D, but it is not high-fidelity gfx and it is not attractive to look at just because graphics get more accurate. Copy Framebuffer to RDRAM is a fix to some games that doesn't break anything (except anti-aliasing...); it just needs a fast CPU. Pretty much. I guess as of recent almost everyone is really busy, but this whole thing has survived much longer than I thought it would, who knows.

If you have a NASA computer.
1) use MAME 2) use angrylion's software RDP. unfortunately it doesn't have per cycle timing so its useless. |
