Default low fps in goldeneye

hewlett packard laptop
amd turion 64 x2 1.80 ghz
RAM 1982 mb

vista home premium 32bit

nvidia geforce go 6150

pj settings: default.

hey guys,

here's what went wrong:

pj seemed to handle framerates smoothly at 60 as far as i could tell (didn't play through the game just shot some guys at the beginning level) windowed and at fullscreen. I then hooked up an svideo to 3rca to my tv, and it was choppy at the intro (when the inside of the camera lens scrolls past from right to left) and when you initially get to the folders to select your game and when you actually play the game now. fps gets to 30 in these trouble areas; sometimes quite lower. this now happens when hooked up to a tv And now on my laptop without being hooked up to the tv.

things i've tried:

defrag
reinstalling pj
trying 1964 (same issue)
setting graphics card to performance (turning off all filters, etc.)
changing to windows classic theme, 16bit colors, 800x600 res. (while changing it in pjs fullscreen mode as well), closing all other programs, clearing my cluttered desktop..

any help would be appreciated; thanks!
