Well heh I don't need that

:snob:

XD I think I'll give it a try though. Since this is not official, I wonder if Jabo or Zilmar will put it up as the latest 1.6 on the main download page?

Apparently 1.6.1 is practically the same thing.

Interesting but the only thing I hate about Project64 is the installer package. Why does this emulator try to be different from the rest? Donate to get beta version access, use an installer package, and other things. Other emulators make donations optional even if there is a beta version, they use a *.zip/*.rar/*.7z, and other things that don't happen.

Anybody have the plug-ins in *.zip/*.rar/*.7z format?

Funny how people who, unlike me, weren't banned, are finding these sorts of updates on the ban sites only after I do and, unlike me, post about them between boards.

Actually I can't tell, but it looked like they had a debate or some conflict or something while zilmar closed this forum temporarily. Obviously Jabo didn't release any details, but that was the last he ever logged on here.

This isn't zilmar's decision; Jabo made that decision all on his own. So I get the impression they are mostly separate at this point, but zilmar still has a little control over the 1.7 specs for the remaining plugin changes kind of as far as that issue.

Eh not really. Only a few, simplistic/efficient or if they were important enough, changes were ported from the 1.7 complex to a public zilmar-spec plugin as version 1.6.1.

Actually the public 1.6 version is like, the only Project64 download that doesn't use ZIP/RAR. 1.5 uses RAR, 1.0:1.4 ZIP, and all the beta files on the site (and Project64 1.6 on the beta downloads page, too) all use ZIP.

If this emulator wasn't different from the rest, people would find some other biased reason to love it over the others anyway I guess. :/

Aw, that'd be sad if they weren't friends anymore

Well they definitely had some sort of disagreement, based on the way Jabo worded things in his update at ET and his blog, but there's really no evidence that they're not friends anymore or anything like that (or that they still are, though).
