You can either install drivers for adapter technology to read them or just use N-Rage's DirectInput.
They're sort of like a small extension to the MPK files. |

Another way is to just install a plug-in that can do this.
Read the instructions here for a "free" way. http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=36135 |

i tried to the best of my ability to follow that link and i am still completely lost. is there any way someone can simplify a way for me to open up saved games in a .n64 format? i tried download the save states off of the pj64 site and i can't figure out how to load those either. i read on some other thread that the save and the rom have to have the same name, and even than, i can't get it to work. any help is greatly appreciated.

okas first while we're going through some steps, if it saves you future time, I guarantee this won't work for games that don't use the N64 controller pak. N-Rage's plug-in will import the N64 alternative successfully as notes, but if the game doesn't use the controller pak, this does nothing.
And to be honest I haven't experimented, enough, with games that do, but if the adaptoid link there is not an option, this is all the benefit I can offer. First check if you managed to install the software. In Project64 if you check via Options/Settings..., the "Plugins" tab should show what plug-ins you are using. When you click to change the input (controller) plug-in (third option down), where the installed default setting is "Jabo's DirectInput7 1.6", if you can change that to and see an option for "N-Rage's DirectInput8 V2 [...]", you installed the plug-in. If not you have yet to install it. So if you haven't installed it yet, download the installation archive here. http://www.randomwisdom.com/files/NR...V2_2.1_rc3.zip Open the ZIP to see three files in it. - NRage_DInput8_V2_2.1.dll - nrage_docs.chm - README.txt The second and third files are help documentation, so feel free to read those. If you got that far let us know. |
