Exclamation Installation and Set Up isn't working.

When I tried to redownload Project64 it cited my download attempt as an "illegal download attempt" then I logged into this account and tried to download, it then downloaded fine.

When I tried to install I get the error message;
"The Setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program"

This happens in v2.1, v2.0 and v1.6. I didn't try any other versions because it just doesn't seem to be working. Can anyone help me fix this issue?

Same here. I, too, made an account in order to bypass the illegal download attempt message, but now I can't install because the files are corrupted.

Would love some help on this as I'd no idea Project 64 had gone past v1.6.

If all else fails, try using a download manager.

Which one would you recommend?

And is that really necessary? Or is this corrupted download not a widespread problem?

EDIT: I got a download manager and the problem persists.

It's not widespread ... but in the past a handful of people (what is that, like, 1/500th of a human body?) have complained that the NSIS installer wouldn't work for them.

Try to look around for a ZIP file installer for the emulator. I know if you were a project supporter and you donated then zilmar gave you ZIP archives to extract and directly install the emulator that way.

If you have 7zip,try the open archive context action on the installer file.
It should open a directory with 7zip containing the PJ64 files in the installer file.

Sorry if this does not work for whatever reason.
