Can't see any images.

What does windows device manager show the controller as?

Open Game Controllers in Control Panel. If on win 8 or 10, search your pc for joy.cpl (It will be in System32). (For some stupid reason, Game Controllers control panel icon is not in Control Panel on 8 or 10.) Run it, it will open your game controllers so that you can calibrate them.

If it's not shown in Game Controllers, check XInput in NRage and then set up your controller buttons.

Thank you for the suggestion, but when I tried this out I got the same issue:
My computer just won't detect the device.

You probably need the driver for your gamepad. But you haven't said what device manager says about your device.

We cannot see your pictures, and cannot click non existant links to pictures.

Even if windows doesn't recognise your device, device manager will show it as a problem device (with no driver).

I once made my own serial interface useing the old printer port. I had to use a driver called DirectPadPro. It worked with Project64.

If your pad works with any game on your pc, it should work in Project64 (With the correct driver).

Device manger says that there's a driver an issue with a driver and "Device cannot be used (code 10)" I've tried to download a driver, but it didn't even let me do that, it just gives an error message saying that the driver couldn't be downloaded.

I'll try using DirectPadPro and see what happens.

I wouldn't use DirectPadPro unless you've built an interface it's written for. It makes the old PC's serial printer interface use DirectInput. It won't work for USB adapters.

Oh, never mind then I guess.
Thank you for all the help, it doesn't seem like there's much I could do to fix this then.
I'll just try to buy a mayflash or just use a 360 controller for now.

I've just found this.

https://github.com/Stents-/XOutput

It's a driver/wrapper that converts DirectInput to XInput.
Download the latest release and follow the instructions at the bottom of that page, How To Set Up.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but in the instructions it says to download the xbox 360 driver, so is this only for 360 controllers?
If yes, then my 360 controllers work fine, they're just all a bit too sensitive which is why I'm trying to get my gc controllers to work.

Also, if it's any use now I edited all my previous posts to have links to imgur so you can see any photos I meant to post.

It allows old DirectInput pads to use the newer XInput 360 driver.

There's also this. But it seems a bit more involved to get working.
