I am using Project64 2.3.2.202. When I select "Configure Controller Plugin.." and try to input the controls for my Nintendo 64 controller (a,b,z,r,l, d-pad, c-buttons) it is not recognizing when I press the buttons.
It is odd because when I go to my computer's Control Panel (Hardware and Sound ----> Devices and Printer) to connect my controller (which is recognized as "USB GamePad") and adjust its properties, it recognizes all of the buttons and analog stick movements. So I believe my controller and adapter is working properly and they are securely plugged in. My only problem is when I go to the "Configure Controller Plugin.." (under "Options" in the Project64 emulator) and it fails to recognize my inputs. This brings up a window titled "N-Rage Input V-2 - Configuration". I really wanted to do this to play with the controller, not the keyboard. Please help me! -WinchDawg24 |

I'm having the same problem. I'm disappointed to see that you posted this almost 3 months ago and have gotten no responses; all other threads that Google turns up refer to older versions of the emulator.

clicking up, down, etc and pressing a button on the control isn't assigning it?

I use an N64 controller myself more often than not and had no issue configuring NRage to it (when I used it). I use a plugin exclusive to the controller adapter I use, but if you STILL can't get you N64 controller to work then click HERE. It's an input plugin from 1.7. It's an old reliable plugin, IMO and if the plugin doesn't work then I'm not sure how else to help. Good luck! Last edited by NUK3 TH3 WHAL35; 14th May 2017 at 11:02 PM. |

I tried what you suggested, and I guess hitting "prefer" was all it needed because it worked just fine. Thanks.

But I am still having the same issue.
I even downloaded the file Nuke The Whales provided and placed the Jabodinput.dll in my input plugin folder, right next to the PJ64 NRage.dll file. I can't find the word "Prefer" anywhere, and I can't use the controller at all. Please help. |

I used an earlier version of Project64. Version 1.2 specifically. I didn't do anything special, I just made sure my Xbox controller was plugged in and then I did some setting up (mapping out buttons). There are videos online about controller set up for Project64 v1.2.

uh, idk why you'd ever want to use a version that old.

I've managed to get it working for me. I'm using a Mayflash N64 controller adapter on project n64 v2.3.2. My problem was that I had loaded a rom and i guess it wont let you configure a controller while its running. When I opened the emulator and tried to configure it without anything running on it, it worked. Hopefully you've figured it out by now, but maybe this will help someone trying to do it in the future.
