Trouble configuring gamecube controller

When I go to controller config, whenever I press the square button to setup a hotkey it automatically sets to "Rx-". It even does it when my gamecube controller is off (it's a wireless one). Please help!

I have experience with at least a wired Gamecube controller as a PC Joystick.

Go get JoyToKey from its homepage or from the emucr site.

There is a setting that calibrates the Analog Stick that also fixes the detection glitch.

I had analog stick range trouble with Sonic Adventure2 on a Dreamcast emulator by it not letting me walk properly,and JoyToKey fixed it!
