Loop Glitch

In Super Mario 64, whenever I get to the Big Star Door that leads to Bowser in the Fire Sea and Dire Dire Docks, Mario pays the stars but the doors don't open...

And Mario pays the stars again, and the door still won't open.

And again, still no luck!

AND AGAIN! (HELP!)

Until finally, 5 minutes later, it's still looping, so I had to close the emulation and start it up again.

Any ideas on how to get past this irritating glitch?

NOTE: I am using the 120 stars cheat, and all other star doors work perfectly fine.
