Exclamation Super Smash Bros. graphical errors

I'm running PJ64 on a toaster, and the only graphics plugin that I can get working smoothly without stuttering is Jabo's Direct3D6 1.5.2 plugin. I've tried using Glide and Rice Video plugins but they won't work on my machine no matter what I do. So I'm stuck with Jabo's Direct3D6 1.5.2.

The problem is, shields and other items in Super Smash Bros. are rendered incorrectly, appearing flat or too small.

How can I fix this issue while still using Jabo's 1.5.2 plugin?

I hate that issue!

There is another version of Jabo's plugin that displays Smash Bros. properly.

Try Jabo's Direct3D8 1.6.1 to see if there is no stuttering.

I hope it works on your toaster.
I am starting to think that it might not be a toaster, but I am not sure.

Edit:What pisses me off is that I can't find the damn thing as a DLL plugin!

Currently, the only known way to get the 1.6.1 plugin is to do the stuff from the Jabo page and then copy/paste the plugin into the 2.1 versions gfx plugin folder.

Since the forum will not let me post links...

Search for the plugin with Google to find Jabosoft with the instructions page for installing the 1.6.1 version of Project64.

It includes a safer download of Project64 v1.6 on the site itself, and the patch for 1.6.1 changes which includes the 1.6.1 plugin.

I have also a big graphic problem with super smash bros

I start the game, the game is creepy fast (sound too), only the nintendo logo appeears, then black screen and the controls wont work (but i can hear the opening sound really fast in the background). I have tried the US version and this works fine, but the european is buggy with project 2.0 and 2.1.
I tried all other video plugins, nothing help...

In 1.6 works the european ssb correctly... dont know why isnt work in pj64 2.0 and 2.1

Afaik, Jabo's Direct3D6 1.5.2 will never display shields properly. You probably have to use a different plugin.

It is probably related to the D3D version it is using.
Since it is D3D6,it can run Banjo-Tooie faster than the D3D8 Jabo plugins.

The D3D8 found in the 1.6.1 plugin must be what improves the chance of proper graphics display.

There's no way to fix it in 1.5.2? That's a shame, because that's by far the fastest plugin for Smash Bros. that I've gotten working on my toaster of a machine. 1.6.1 looks really nice and accurate but it stutters whereas 1.5.2 does not.

Well I managed to get rid of most of the stuttering by changing the RSP plugin. So I think I'm good to go!

Which RSP plugin do you use? This sounds interesting.

Default Similar problem

I have a slightly better machine, as far as I can tell (not a toaster.), so I wasn't worried with trying the other built in graphics plugins. I still get the flat items, AND Samus' cannon shoots almost invisible dots.

What graphics plugin are you using? Basically the best video plugin to use for Super Smash Bros, depends on how good your machine is.
High end machines - Glide64 Final
Mid - Jabo 1.6 or 1.7 (depending on the emulator)
Low - 1964 Video.
