Can't Aim Gun in Conker

I honestly don't know if its an emulation problem or the rom itself, but when I got to the Haunted Mansion level and tried to aim the gun and shoot it wouldn't work. I pressed the right trigger to aim, but when i press the z button it just zooms out back to the normal 3rd person camera. (For the record, I'm using a ps3 controller, mapped the z button to L2 and the right trigger to R2) I have no clue what to do
