Exclamation Resident Evil 2 issue.

I notice that the ROM was taken from play-station which bring a few issues in.
First and foremost that ROM crashes(Forced to crash)when a cheat is punched in usually when its a selecting code this happens with 1.7 but in 1.6 the game eventually comes to a halt.
However if it is the ROM in general i can understand why it has so many issues.
There a way to fix this? maybe in time maybe a small change i do not know but i thought be worth asking.

Some cheats crash the game, so try playing with them off.

Yes but it never happened in 1.6.
But why does only one cheat section force crash the game?
When using Max Item Modifier it forces the game to die.

You said it hanged in 1.6. That would be for the same reason.

Actually sometimes turning on a single cheat code can crash the game instantly; other times you can have 100 codes on then the game will still be completely stable.

yes but that be maybe 15 minutes after several cheats are active. i used the Max item modifier code of 1.6 it be fine through out most the game.

It might also be 0 minutes if you're already at a specific point in the game where memory is loaded to the point where the cheat you activated is writing to, in which case you instantly executed a conflict.

So the time it takes isn't always a pertinent factor; if it crashes period but doesn't crash when the code is off then that is enough info.

Exclamation

well that answers one of my questions but why is it only one code that forces it close?
