Default Project 64 v1.6 performance issues in windows 10

Hello,

I recently moved my project 64 from my old Toshiba (purchased 2009) running windows 7 to my new hp envy with core i7 processor (purchased 2014) with windows 10. The performance issues are terrible. I had virtually no performance issues on my old computer but on my new computer I can't really run any ROM without giant lags causing unsmooth sound and unsmooth game play. The only game that was pretty playable was Super Mario 64.

I would really like to play Griffey Slugfest, Banjo Kazooie, Bond, and Ocarina of Time (both original and master's quest).

Does anybody know what the ideal advanced settings would be for windows 10 generally and if needed what are the ideal advanced settings for each of these games?

Thanks

First thought is that Intel's GPU is still terrible with 3D emulation, and you need to force the main GPU (usually good ol' Nvidia) to always run for PJ64.

Otherwise,i'd blame Windows 10 because,by fact,it is slower than Windows 7 and thus also much slower than Windows 8.
Anything past Windows 7 is insulting, because Win 8 has no support and Windows 10 is ridden with built-in adware and spyware and a backdoor for the NSA to peep on you and even compromise your system.

They should have done it like everything else did,by bundling it in new laptops with the cost or sold it in a box at $90+ dollars instead of being "free".

Have you tried to run Project 64 in compatibility mode. You can right click=>properties and get Project64.exe to run like windows 7. I have windows 10 and i've not had any issues with 1.6 and currently i run project 2.2. I suggest that you find 2.2 its much better.

Honestly don't see why people think Windows 10 is the best OS ever, it's not, and is just bad for emulators and other programs.

Buy Windows 10 today to receive Obamacare for no extra cost!

Just kiddin'.

Again, the problems of Windows 10 besides bugs or instability are,its "free" (ads everywhere),built-in spyware and adware, the backdoor for the NSA (or any other hacker to breach),removal of older DirectX/D3D versions, forced automatic updates, and being slower than Windows 7.

Windows 10 isn't all it's cracked up to be, like Android Marshmallow.
