Opening the graphics plugin settings crashes the game?

Hi, this is my first post on here so I don't know if this is right, anyways every single time I begin an emulation, and try to open up the graphics plugin settings the emulator just completely crashes, has anyone ever had this problem and if yes, did you self it? If yes, how?
