I have an Xbox 360 USB controller. I've set up which button on the Xbox controller corresponds to which button on the N64. I started up Star Fox 64. I skipped through the intro and started the game. I mashed the A button, until when General Pepper tells you "It's about time you've showed up, Fox! You're the only hope for our world!" At this point, the controller is completely unresponsive. I've tried different ROMs of Star Fox 64, and they all do the same thing. I tried the 2.0 version and the 2.1 version and they both do the same thing.

Thanks for the info. Is there an alternative to Project 64 that supports Xbox controllers?

![]() I am using the latest Project64 2.1.0.1 on Microsoft Windows 8 Home Premium. Default Project 64 Plugins, nothing configured other "no memory pack" and the "Sync using audio" and "Fixed Audio timing" in ROM Options. I change those settings for every ROM because I like a consistent framerate where the speed doesn't drop too low or go too fast. However, some ROMS require these options or you'll get choppy sound (GoldenEye + Hexen). I wish I had an original Xbox 360 Wired Controller, but this is third party with a USB connection adapter at the end. It's odd to find that my 3rd party Xbox Controller supports the game whereas an official Xbox 360 Controller doesn't. Perhaps you just got unlucky, wish I had an official controller to test myself. Sorry. |
