Angry "Failed to load plugin"

Alright. I've been googling this for three hours, and many people have had similar problems, but I cannot find the precise solution.

I simply cannot change plugins. This happens to 1964 as well as to PJ64. Neither Glide nor Rice's works. When I open the Settings window in PJ64, a slew of error messages pop up telling me that the program failed to open glide, rice's, msvcr71.dll, msvcp71.dll, etc. I found and downloaded the .dlls, installed them in the plugin folder and in the registry, and nothing changed. I've downloaded and installed the Visual C++ runtimes (2005, 2008).

Now, when this problem has come up previously, rswedlow has recommended putting the files in the same place as projec~1.exe. I cannot find this file. googling it doesn't help either; it just links me to crap programmes which tell me I have 500 issues but won't fix them if I don't buy the full version.

I'm convinced there's some kind of dll, registry problem that is stopping me and other people in the past from being able to change plugins. As it happens, I'm doing this to play Ogre Battle 64 without the black backgrounds. Help would be very, very much appreciated.

Visual C++ runtimes (2005, 2008).
which don't contain the VC7 runtime. you need to install .net framework 1.1

@dsxchallenger: ...so it is.
@squall: ...so I do.

You two are like unto the beauties of Solomon's harem in your voluptuousness of mind and generous plenitude. I offer you many, many thanks.

Supposedly it's something about "sensual feelings" so says some dictionary website.
