"Could not create directinput object"

It worked like 2 hours ago and after I turned off my PC and turned it back on after about 2 hours it suddenly showed that message. Before I turned off my PC it already didn't work how I wanted and it didn't recognize my pdp xbox-controller. So now I am faced with one problem I can't solve and another that I am prevented from solving if the directinput problem isn't resolved. I appreciate any help and hope I can soon play my beloved Paper Mario.
