Invoking my save editor on any Zelda MM FlashRAM save with:

Code:
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --file-erase
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --file-new true
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --file-rename "Link "
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --owl-statues 0000000011000001
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --inv-subscreen 0000
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --inv-subscreen 0101
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --inv-subscreen 1D32
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --songs 0000000011100001
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --temple-Woodfall 00000111
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --boss-masks 0001
... would have given him a save file with everything he asked + more.
  • Resets File 1 to a new empty file named "Link"
  • Marks owl statue warp locations at Woodfall, Southern Swamp, and South Clock Town
  • In his subscreens, gives him the Ocarina of Time, Deku Mask and Hero's Bow
  • Already learned ocarina melodies "Song of Healing", "Song of Time", "Oath to Order", and "Sonata of Awakening"
  • Have Woodfall Temple dungeon items (the Map, Compass, Boss Key)
  • Already finished Woodfall Temple (have Odolwa's Remains boss mask)
... How would one go about putting this code in. Just got PJ64 and Majora's Mask (U). I got to Snowhead Temple using the Zelda Dungeon walkthrough, so I got everything possible on the way. Lost the files, couldn't recover them, looking to restore to right after Woodfall Temple or if possible right after Snowhead Temple
By the way, this is my first ever play through. I was devastated when the files were lost. Thanks for any guidance in advance.

I cannot restore most of the heart pieces you collected, since that was the one thing that was too annoying for me to finish reversing. If I could go back in time to when I had more time I would probably have finished implementing it, but I'm not sure I can maintain this save editor of mine so regularly now.

Everything else you said, however, I think I can restore.

Code:
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --file-erase
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --file-new true
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --file-rename "Link " # or whatever name you want
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --owl-statues 0000000011011100
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --inv-subscreen 0000 # have Ocarina of Time
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --inv-subscreen 0101 # have Hero's Bow
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --inv-subscreen 0E0D # have Pictograph Box
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --inv-subscreen 0F0E # might want the Lens of Truth
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --inv-subscreen 1212 # have an Empty Bottle
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --inv-subscreen 1312 # here, have another
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --inv-subscreen 1D32 # Deku Mask
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --inv-subscreen 2333 # Goron Mask
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --songs 0000000011010011
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --wallet 01
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --temple-Woodfall 00000111
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --boss-masks 0001 # you finished Woodfall
zs ZELDAM~1.FLA 0 --temple-Snowhead 00000111 # map, compass, boss key
so you get:

* all the required masks to get there
* Goron's Lullaby, Sonata of Awakening, Song of Time/Healing and Oath to Order
* Odolwa's remains
* convenience dungeon navigation items for Woodfall, Snowhead
* a few of those stupid empty bottles (let me know if you need more)
* owl statues marked at Clock Town, Mountain Village, Snowhead, Woodfall/Swamp
* the Adult's Wallet (max 200 rupees)

You probably want more than that like, extra masks, (I personally use the Blast Mask from North Clock Town to blast my way through the snow boulders to even get to Mountain Village anyway.) but if so just say so I guess.

Hello there, could I please have a link to this save editor? I had an unfortunate crash after the Woodfall temple

Thanks

Well, you did save before the Woodfall Temple, right?

I still have it around somewhere, but unless you're skilled with scarcely documented command-line operations I am not sure how you would manage to use the EXE on your own. Most of the manual I wrote on it is from a programmer's perspective, and I am not a graphical UI person.

I can type lines into command prompt I'd be really grateful if you could share it, I don't have much time for games these days!

That doesn't make sense. If you don't have time for games, then why would you have been willing to play up to the Woodfall Temple without saving so it would end up crashing anyway?

Either way, well, if you're sure, I'll upload it. I'm halfway sure you won't figure out how to use it though. If you'd rather try to use it on your own than let me modify it for you, then you'd better at least be a C programmer and understand endian swaps.

Open Discussion.

I guess you seem nice. Well I put it in another forum to organize any other possible discussion in its own thread.
