Not my favorite thread to bump...but all unfinished research must go on.

Here is my current progress. I have revived a certain old stage I was at for deriving sin(1 degree).

Sine of one degree, in Windows Calculator, prints:
sin(1) = 0.01745240643728351281941897851632

I'm happy to finally see that this is equivalent to the result of this high-level expression:

What could be strange about it?

The fact that it's math and not 60 FPS/N64 emulation hacks?

This discovery is a foundation for finding the exact source codes to the sines of any other integer-degree angle. I'd say that qualifies as "useful", not strange.

I don't question the usefulness of math but the fun factor of it because I find hard to enjoy myself this type of complex equations ...

I certainly do not find its current, complex form enjoyable.

Why are you assuming this thread is a matter of fun/enjoyment? You think I'm some kind of autist or something?

What I like is simplifying it to something more useful (or close as possible...).

Now right now the equations are horribly complex...but if you were to scroll to the first posts of this thread when I first began "simplifying" the sine of 1 degree, you would see something just that much more complex.

So like you said, complex is less enjoyable math to do, than simple.

Anyway, if I was really having fun making this horrible expression less horrible, I would not have put the research off for 4 years of N64 emulation development first, before finally getting back to it after so long.

I would have to be some kind of autist, if I was doing this just for fun, and not importance to other projects.
But I mostly bumped this thread as a reminder to self, so it'll take days before my next update.

Now I totally understand you. And yes at first I assumed you were some kind of autist or close to it but I remember too myself torturing with horribly C++ code just to hack or mod something on an obscure game or emulator (e.g. ArcEmu and ManGos sapped many years of my youth)...

In my early days, I do remember assuming I was probably some flavor of autistic. But that may have just been the normal ego of everyone thinking they're way weirder than anyone else in the world.

Dude C++ code IS torture. I only ever mess with it to clean it up into C.

Anyway I sure do admit to having fun with finally having breakthroughs with this 4-year-old research project of mine, but I'm not even finished yet. The next step of this thread is I'm going to have to cube both sides of the equation (raise to the power of 3) to get rid of the cube roots and try to simplify out the sqrt(-1)...and I know that is as far away from "fun" as this math gets.
