MayFlash N64 adapter not working

bought this from fourtriangles and cant seem to get it working. it says "plug and play" but thats clearly not the case. Here's what ive done so far:

Changed the controller input. the options were "None" "Game Pad" and "Game Pad" (yes it repeats.) So I tried both game pads and nothing came of that. and i messed with the range dealy and nothing. Its the dual connection one. the drivers installed perfectly. any ideas. in om AIM at nickyjameslh and on y!m at super_toitle@yahoo.com. r you can just respond here! thanks!
