Default Project64 doesn't start up!

I've downloaded PJ64 v1.6 on my laptop and when I try and start up the program, it appears on the processes list (task manager) for about 3 seconds then disappears. The PJ64 window never actually comes up at all, nor do I get an error message.

I've tried running as administrator. I've tried turning off UAC. I haven't tried adding PJ64 to the DEP exceptions list because when I go to edit those settings, both the options are greyed out.. I'm not sure why that is.

Laptop: Asus k61IC
OS: Windows 7 x64 Home Premium (SP 1)
CPU: Pentium T4400
Graphics card: nVidia GeForce GT 220M
RAM: 4GB

Thanks for your time!
