![]() ![]() I thought this was slightly amusing after reading about people complaining of malware within the latest installers of PJ64, I guess Google agrees with those people too. |

Would an emulator hater have a "Project Supporter" title under his name?
Also someone kindly created a portable version of the emulator with no installer so it's all good. Last edited by yourma2000; 11th November 2015 at 01:54 AM. Reason: additional info |

There are multiple ways to install with the installer without getting anything and one can report a website as harmful to google, if enough people whine they will put up this warning

In addition, AVG automatically tries to delete the PJ64 2.2 installer.

For me it's a minor annoyance, but I understand zilmar's reasons for putting the adwares, it has discussed before, yes they are very intrusive but If you read carefully you wont install them accidentally...
Project64 is a fine piece of software by itself, so is worth the extra trouble to get the emu working, also you only need to this once, after you managed to extract its content, just zip the entire thing so you don't need to mess with the installer again in case you want to set everything back to the defaults... Furthermore there are tons of ways to circumvent this, it's just people that are lazy to find a proper solution for their level of skill and just spam the board with OMG this software ruined my life, and why Dolphin hasn't this, its been said before and its old news... Emulation is not newb friendly, so if you accidentally installed them, this will be the first of many trips you will have until you get a good experience with emulators in general... UPDATE: Also, there is no point in downloading the original 2.2 package offered in the downloads section since the most up to date version is obtained by other means, EmuCR or the best method: Compiling it yourself from the Github, because it contains recent fixes, the most obvious is that the configs files doesn't corrupt anymore when you keep changing settings and zilmar removed the adware from the sources in the Github or at least you can compile without them...
