With netplay we just couldn't connect to each other no matter what we did, we tried to use hamachi even. I'd try whatismyip and give that IP, I also tried all the IP's and v4's I could find on my router page.

What do I actually do?

I got my IP from googling my IP, then I gave it to my friend, then went /server 1332 and he obviously went /connect (myip) 1332 and it didn't work.

Have you forwarded the port you're trying to use? Are you using a router?
