Controller glitch

So, i use an wired x360 controller on pj64 with N-rage plugin (that one you get from default) and i mapped the Z button to the LT button. For some reason if i move my analog stick in a certain way it detects as if i pressed the Z button. Even though the analog stick is not mapped to that button.
This only happens when i map the LT button to Z. It's not my controller. I've tried it on other stuff such as CITRA and it worked fine.
What is happening? Is my settings crap? Or n-rage input sucks?
