Disney's Tarzan - not fully functional

I had problems with the N64 version of Disney's Tarzan. I can boot it up normally and it goes to the start screen, but whenever i click any of the available options the game just freezes at one point or other (sometimes the "Welcome to the Jungle" screen comes on, sometimes it doesn't already). Any ideas?
