When I try to play Banjo Kazooie on my laptop I can run through the into sequence fine but when I try to get to the New Game/Load Game screen to actually play I get an error that reads "In a permanent loop that cannot be exited." I read the manual and found that the answer is that it's usually a bad ROM that causes this. I thought my ROM was good but then again I can't check it using the link supplied in the manual because it won't load for me for some reason.
Is there another way to verify a ROM or is this a known issue with the current public version of P64 when used in conjunction with Windows 7? I'm using the default plug-ins My Computer Specs CPU: Intel Core i7 720QM(1.6GHz) Graphics: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870, 1GB GDDR5 OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit RAM: 6GB DDR3 1066 Any help would be appreciated. |

Nah nothing to do with your OS.
If you're not sure it's the ROM then press Ctrl+C when the game is up to see if any conflicting cheats are enabled. Also it could be the RDB in theory, so try re-installing the Project64.rdb file or the whole emulator if you don't know how.

latest build of pj64 works fine. check the actual rom file your using, mine is called
Banjo-Kazooie (E) (M3) [!].z64 where i believe the E is the region europe i think m3, is three languages support, i think and where the exclamation mark represents verified rom if you have things like (f1) i think that means fix or something. i believe banjo tooie to be a more of a pain in the butt because of the freeze so you have to save regularly. it's a good thing banjo kazooie is better :-) freezeezy peak rules! I preferred exploring and inter-world navigation networks in Banjo-Tooie, but BK has more mysteries held.
f[n] = f these [n] number of pirated ROMs

f means pirated roms? are your sure. if i remember correctly, they meant fix.
i found banjo tooie rediculously harder and i didn't enjoy the end because there is no gruntilda butt kicking. i may be wrong, there may have been butt kicking but i can't remember. i do however remember being disappointed in the end for some reason. i really did enjoy banjo kazooie a lot. lol no I'm not sure, yeah the f means fixed
![]() well, officially, anyway =D You were right don't worry. ![]() Fixed ROMs are also filed under 'F' for, some reason that I don't remember, cause I don't really remember what fixed ROMs are. Man, Banjo-Tooie, yeah it was harder; I'm not denying that. I just had this really dynamic feel from it, yeah a bit from the in-game cheating system I'll admit but still, more complex and enhanced. And yes at the end of BT there is Grunty butt- (or lack thereof) kicking, but you never directly attack her. You just evasively counterattack her from around the HAG1 machine she's using to try to drill shots in to you. BK still a very good game, but for replay value after 100% done with the game, then I prefer BT.

Ah yes, that must have been why I was disappointed, the indirect attack
![]() I'm not too sure if I enjoyed the level interchange thingy because I like to finish a level completely but I did like the sneaking of the totem stone thing, on the red carpet. Isn't there a problem with banjo tooie? I seem to remember there being a problem after being shot into he sky level. I don't think I've played that level because of an issue. I enjoyed so many levels of banj kazooie. 1st level, freezezy peak, click clock woods, clanger's cavern. Etc one final thing, you prefer wumba wigwam or mumbo jumbo I prefer mr. Eekom pokum

Heh, yeah the indirect attacks, like at the end where Banjo just sticks out his foot and trips the HAG1 machine out of the cauldron pinnacle then Grunty dies.
no jk I totally made that upIt's hard to say, cause in both of the Banjo games there are several reasons why you want to go back to earlier levels to complete newer ones or leave jigsaw pieces behind temporarily. I don't remember an issue entering the Cloud Cuckooland level if that is what you meant. I didn't like Clanker's Cavern cause the whole theme of being in a shitty dump hearing shitty music kinda felt, well shitty, but shit is either good or bad then I liked it at the same time. I remember over 10 years ago I sure had fun persisting in Click Clock Wood .Heh, well Mumbo Jumbo says eek-um bo-kum in both games but also a lot in BT when you use one of those Mumbo pads to do one of his magic voodoo stuffs.
