Tool-assisted doesnt mean its cracked in some way. This replay demonstrates gameplay in case you were superman with perfect reactions and button ultra-press skill.
Example: pressing buttons in mid-frame by tool may raise your character velocity greatly, so thats why its called "tool-assisted". Check out TAS Videos.

Wow.
Although I'm impressed by the (skill) used in this video, I'm not conviced. Tool assited makes it phoney. Ad how the hell can you enjoy a game while going 500 k/h? I bet he used slowdowns. Used some kind of turbo and other cheating mechanisms. This makes the movie a dud. Come on, he's had like 500 takes for one star. I know of some of those bugs but come on, completing the game like that would suck. I use save states often. So I don't have to repedetivly try to do something. Of course, it is a cheat I don't use it all the time. This person has clearly used save states. And I know in speed runs people use different ROMs that give you advantages where in the real game they don't exist. I bet this video is used with an edited ROM. You can awe at it, just don't think the person who made it is an honest one. Mush Man

LOL, funny, the video comments should have said that he used ahem... some kind of "game assistance"
i noted that: 1) he used some type of autofire, the text was passing too fast, or maybe his fingers are incredibly fast? 2) Funny that he can use the long jump without running, and alas, his long jump go higher too. 3) OMG!!! incredible lucky cannon shot!!! maybe you should bet in the lottery. 4) There is a scene that you hit the air (the stars come out of nowhere) and do the wall jump, invisible wall? If it wasn't for these 4 things, i could think that you are a type of super player... well, the video was a great job anyway, congrats.
